Taking Photos of Kids

When it comes to taking pictures of people, kids got to be the hardest to pull of right. Kids are not like adults and get very tired quick. To take great photos of kids you need to have a lot of patience and be nice. Most of the time you will not know the kid you are photographing and should show them that you are nice and not to be afraid.

If you think that taking pictures of kids is hard try taking pictures of infants. Taking photos of infants can make for really nice photos but it takes even more time and effort to pull off right. An infant will cry a lot and sleep.

When taking shots of children that are around the age of three you can easily relate to them by using some simple tactics. Children mostly are shy to people they do not yet know. If you want them to be friendlier simply give them some distractions like toys or games to play. Also a dog or cat could really distract them.

Children older than this are more likely to be more friendly and faster to photograph. Of course, you want to take the photos as quick as possible because once they get tired of taking pictures it can be very difficult.

The tools that you need for taking photos of some kids is not that advanced. A normal lens will be good enough most of the time. There are specific lenses for taking people shots but a regular telephoto lens will do.

If you can take great pictures of kids people will probably want you to take the photos of their kids as well. Be sure never to take pictures of children without another person present. Always make sure you have permission first before taking the photos.
